The first time I saw my ex since before the divorce, I had invited her to get together and talk in a local coffee shop. We made a scene.

When I got home, Grace came right out to meet me as I pulled into the driveway.

Grace (with anxious eyes): How’d it go?

Me: Good. It was a good reminder of why she’s my ex.

Grace was laughing so hard, she could barely kiss me.
