Maybe not simple alone, but (and please forgive me if I’m sticking my oar in where it doesn’t belong) if this guy you seem to be conflicted about is worth his salt, not to mention your attention, he should be prepared to support you as you tackle the not-simple issues. And who knows, if the two of you are of one mind in your goals, maybe what once seemed too complicated or too difficult might become as simple as removing the “-ed”s. I hope so.
